NFL Week 15 2013 - Previews and Predictions

The playoff races are beginning to really heat up right about now. The Broncos and Chargers have already played with San Diego shocking Denver and most of the nation, coming out with a win 27-20 at Mile High Stadium.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports
(7-6)Miami is still ahead of (7-7)San Diego in trying to sneak their ways into the playoffs with (7-6)Baltimore and (10-3)Kansas City holding the Wild Card spots at the moment. (11-3)Denver, (10-3)New England, (9-4)Cincinnati and (8-5)Indianapolis are all AFC division leaders.

In the NFC is where there seems to be a log jam of teams trying to make their way into the playoffs. (9-4)San Francisco and (9-4)Carolina are currently in possession of Wild Card spots, with (8-5)Arizona, (7-6)Chicago, (7-6)Dallas, and (6-6-1)Green Bay all trying to make their way in. (11-2)Seattle, (10-3)New Orleans, (8-5)Philadelphia and (7-6)Detroit are all NFC division leaders.

There are going to be a lot of teams vying for a playoff spot this Sunday and Monday night and here is my one sentence preview and prediction. Enjoy.

Sunday Afternoon Games:

SEA @ NYG - Seattle is coming off a tough loss to their arch rival and have a lot of steam to release, while the Giants are just worrying about the Hawks "embarrassing" them in Justin Tuck's words.
SEA over NYG 27-17

WSH @ ATL - We may have reached the beginning of the Captain Kirk era in DC, if Shanahan has his way, and Matt Ryan is on pace to throw for over 4,000 yards despite his ugly record. (Check out the what some of Shanahan's former players have to say about the situation transpiring in DC)
WSH over ATL 28-21

CHI @ CLE - Cutler makes his return after missing 4 games to a team that hasn't skipped a beat since he went down, Cleveland may still be reeling from that crushing blow Tom Brady laid on them last week.
CHI over CLE 24-20

HOU @ IND - The Colts are going thru and up and down streak at the moment but with Houston coming to town they should begin to get back on track in  time for the playoffs.
IND over HOU 28-16

NE @ MIA - With the Broncos loss to San Diego on Thursday the Patriots have a chance to become the top seed in the AFC with a win, and Tom and Bill are both aware of that.
NE over MIA 27-23

PHI @ MIN - Nothing seems to be able to slow down these Eagles going 7-2 since starting the season 1-3 and with the injuries hitting Minnesota the good times will keep rolling.
PHI over MIN 34-24

SF @ TB - Both teams are playing their best football of the season and Tampa Bay has won 3 straight at home after starting the season 0-4 at Raymond Jones Stadium.

NYJ @ CAR - Carolina is coming off a tough big loss to New Orleans and have some aggression to release at home to a Jets team who hasn't won two consecutive games all season.
CAR over NYJ 26-14

Monday Night Football:

BAL @ DET - Both teams are sitting on the inside of the playoff picture with Baltimore making a late season surge while the Lions seem to being stumbling late besides their win over an Aaron Rodger-less Packers.
