Seattle Sports Making A Splash Across the Nation

Look out LA, BOS, CHI and NY, there's a new powerhouse coming to the table Seattle, WA.

The Seattle sports scene seems to be progressing as of late. The Seattle Seahawks are 11-1 and have the best record in the NFL and will most likely go into the playoffs with the best home field advantage in the nation. The Seattle Mariners have finally spent some money on a free agent and signed Robinson Cano to a 10-year  $240 Million contract and finally have some talent around their ace pitcher King Felix Hernandez. They still have quite a bit of work to do on their roster but this addition should help in bringing some more hitters out this way or at least help with their consideration. The Washington Huskies lost coach Steve Sarkisian, who up until this year was getting only about 7 wins a season but is now USC's problem, and replaced him with a coach who has an overall record of 92-12 (89%) in former Boise State coach Chris Petersen. We have other great teams in the city as well with the Seattle Sounders signing international star Clint Dempsey earlier this year, and watch out for some of the up-and-coming MMA fighters coming out of Washington as well.

For a city who has made the bottom of the list in Sports towns over the last 2 years, we have finally made some steps towards changing that perception of this Sports-Crazed city. Yes it Seattle so you'll probably run into some rain sooner or later but the sun does still shine on the Pacific Northwest and right now we are basking in this Sports sunlight.

We are still hoping to get an NBA team out here within the next few years, Hey Adam Silver kick that bird brain David Stern out and get us a team already! You just inducted one of our cities greatest players into the NBA Hall of Fame, Gary Payton, and he doesn't even have a place to retire his jersey! Sorry I got strong feelings about this situation that I won't be getting into today but just know, I want my Sonics back!

So watch out America, Seattle is becoming the new sports hot-spot and we will be a force to be reckoned with.
