Bears Win in Lambeau, Least of Green Bays' Worries

Run Rodgers Run!

The Chicago Bears have not won at Lambeau field since 2007! Well that has changed. The biggest headline from this game was not the outstanding effort back up QB Josh McCown displayed by beating division rival Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin, but that Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers went down with what appeared to be a shoulder injury to his non-throwing arm in the 1st Qtr after only 2 pass attempts and missed the remainder of the game. As of today, the word on his injury is that his tests show a small fracture to Rodgers' collarbone (Courtesy of ESPN).

So how about a Monday Night Football game played by two backup QB's. My initial thoughts were, "Great, were gonna have another snooze fest like MNF Week 7 when the Vikings played the Giants". Well lucky for all of us, we didn't have to endure another game of who can play the worst. Bears QB McCown played a alright game throwing for 272 yds and also throwing 2 TD's and no INT's while Green Bays backup QB Seneca Wallace threw for 114 yds and one INT. Both teams got the ground game going in this one, as you would expect when you have 2 backup QB's under center, with the Packers RB Eddie Lacy and Matt Forte each rushing for over 100 yds (Lacy rushed for 150 yds on 22 attempts, Forte rushed for 125 yds on 24 attempts).

Final Score:
CHI over GB 27-20

This game was a battle nonetheless, being that these two have one of the most historic rivalries and have been playing each other since the beginning of the NFL. However long these injuries last for both QB's will have an impact on their playoff chances and if they are still able to make it, then their seed in the playoffs as well. As of 10:30 this morning, Aaron Rodgers may be out for at least 3 weeks, while Jay Cutler may be back for next weeks game against another NFC North division rival, Detroit Lions. The Green Bay Packers will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles next week, led by a red hot Nick Foles, who threw for 7 TD's last week. They may be needing to look elsewhere for a QB, because after last nights game I don't believe Seneca Wallace is going to cut it.
