Flu Game Shoes Up For Auction

Another quick post about the greatest basketball player of all time.

I don't know if any of you have heard, but Michael Jordan's "Flu Game" shoes are going up for auction next Monday. First his former mansion (Jordan's Mansion up for Auction) and now the infamous "Flu Game" sneakers.

Michael Jordan's Flu Game refers to game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals when Jordan was suffering from a stomach illness that almost held him out of the game. Jordan would go on to have a spectacular game, and that's not taking his illness into consideration, and finished the game with 38 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At one point during the game he needed help just to get off the court and got assistance from Scottie Pippen. The Chicago Bulls  would go on to win the NBA championship in their next game. The guy auctioning the shoes off is Preston Truman, a former ball boy for the Utah Jazz. Truman was given the shoes as a gift from Jordan, who signed the shoes and also snapped some pictures for the young man. Truman became a friend of Jordan's when he brought Jordan some applesauce when he had asked while visiting the Jazz earlier in the 1997 season. ALL THIS OVER APPLESAUCE! Now 16 years later, Truman has decided that the time has come to move on from the sneakers, which he held in a bank the whole time.
