2013 NFL Week 6 Mayhem

Another Weekend Down, Another Weekend of Mayhem.

Quick Recap of a few games from week 6 in the NFL:

NO @ NE:
 WOW, THAT WAS AMAZING!

That's all I could say after seeing the highlights of Tom Brady's heroic last minute drive. I mean its nothing that we have not seen Brady do before but every time its almost magical to watch. The Saints were up 27-23 when Brady began his 70 yd TD Drive. Their last drive consisted of a 4th down conversion and a 17 yd TD pass thrown perfectly to Kenbrell Thompkins with 5 seconds left on the clock. Drew Brees and Tom Brady pretty similar nights, Brees throwing for 236 yds and 2 TD's with 1 INT, Brady throwing for 269 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. The Patriots were also able to get some help out of RB Stevan Ridley who was able to rush for 96 yds and 2 TD's. Maybe one of the biggest impacts on this game was the fact that the Patriots defense were able to hold New Orleans TE Jimmy Graham without a catch for the first time since his rookie season in 2010. In the end you can just scratch this one up as Brady being Brady. NE over NO 30-27

TEN @ SEA:
This game was better than I would have anticipated with Ryan Fitzpatrick in as QB for the Titans. It would have been great to see homegrown QB Jake Locker play in front of all his friends and family but with his recent hip injury he wasn't able to suit up Sunday. The Seahawks had a few mistakes this game as well as losing K Steven Hauschka on a Kickoff Return by the Tennessee Titans. Hauschka was able to return but only after a Field Goal attempt that was to be attempted by P Jon Ryan but the snapped was botched by backup Safety Chris Maragos who was filling in for Ryan as the placeholder. The botched Field Goal attempt led to a recovery by Titans Jason McCourty who returned the ball 77 yds to give the Titans a 10-7 lead going into the half. The Hawks were able to pull out the win in the end with help from Marshawn Lynch rushing for 2 TD's and 155 total yds, and Richard Sherman recording his 3rd INT on the year. This was a game that the Hawks were able to make up for their mistakes but if they have any aspirations of a SuperBowl their going to need to work on fixing their mistakes because a better opponent might not make the mistakes on the other side of the ball to keep them in it. SEA over TEN 20-13

STL @ HOU:
0-4 - That is the Houston Texans record since starting 2-0. 2-0 - That is St Louis Rams record since starting 1-3. These two teams seem to be going down two different paths. Now I am sure we are all aware of the way that the Texans fans were reacting when QB Matt Schaub went down with his injury. Now I am sure the cheers have something to do with the amount of pick-6's he has been throwing every game this season, but how do you think all those fans felt when backup QB TJ Yates went in and threw himself a pick-6. That makes Houston 6 out of 6 for games with throwing an INT for a TD. I wonder if they're trying to give Schaub the blame on that one too! This game was a good win for St Louis because of the consistency of winning should be good for the young team, and this game was a disaster for Houston who fell apart all on sides of the ball on Sunday. The lone bright spot for the Texans has to be the way Arian Foster played, who finished the day with 198 yds from scrimmage, but that is the lone bright spot for a team that was considered a Super Bowl favorite before the season had begun. STL over HOU 38-13
