NFL Week 8 2013 Preview & Predictions

Alright we have finally made it to the half way point of the season. We have already had big time players get injured and lost for the season (Vince Wilfork, Sam Bradford, Reggie Wayne, Julio Jones and Brian Hoyer if you can consider him a big time player). We have only had one major trade thus far, Trent Richardson to the Colts, which is usual for the NFL as they don't really have major movement once the season has begun.

There has been some breakout talent this season as well starting with the Kansas City Chiefs defense. If anyone said before the season started that the Chiefs would be ranked as the top defense in the league I would have laughed and just thought you must be a Andy Reid fan. Well Andy, I think you have made everyone a fan, considering how you have handled moving from Philly to Kansas City and bringing the Chiefs to the top of their division (which includes the Denver Broncos led by Peyton Manning).

Speaking of leading divisions, here is a quick look at who's leading their division:

AFC:

West- Kansas City Chiefs (7-0)

East - New England Patriots (5-2)

North - Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)

South - Indianapolis Colts (5-2)

NFC:

West - Seattle Seahawks (6-1)

East - Dallas Cowboys (4-3)

North - Green Bay Packers (4-2)

South - New Orleans Saints (5-1)

What a year it has been and the fun ain't over yet. This week we have a bunch of games that don't really catch your attention but its a week of NFL Football nonetheless. Here is my one sentence predictions for all the games we have going on this weekend.

NFL Week 8 Predictions:

Thursday Night Football

CAR @ TB - Things are not going to be ending well for the Bucs this season; sorry Revis, should have stayed in Jets country.
CAR over TB 31-13

Sunday Games

DAL @ DET - The way that Andy Dalton worked the Lions last week, I think Dallas has a good chance of mirroring that performance this Sunday.
DAL over DET 27-25

CLE @ KC - Can you say 8-0, because I know Kansas City can after this weekend.
KC over CLE 21-15

MIA @ NE - Miami has not won in New England since 2008 (Thanks to QB Matt Cassel), and have never beat the Patriots in New England when Tom Brady is behind the center.
NE over MIA 23-19

BUF @ NO - Brees and Co. coming off a Bye week after their first loss of the season going up against the Bills and QB Thad Lewis, don't bet against Sean Payton and Drew Brees on this one.
NO over BUF 34-15

NYG @ PHI - Philly has lost 9 straight at home but the Giants are on a 8 game road losing streak, Vick back in the starting line-up makes my decision for this game.
PHI over NYG 30-24

SF @ JAX - The Europeans will get to enjoy a first class whooping at Wembley Stadium in London, San Fran will hand Jacksonville their 8th loss of the season.
SF over JAX 31-10

NYJ @ CIN - This will be the game of the weekend, with these two teams playing so similar I think this game is a push so home team gets the edge.
CIN over NYJ 21-18

PIT @ OAK - This match-up is just like the one above as the teams are almost equal in all categories, both teams average 17 pts a game and allow 22 pts a game, however both teams are working in different directions and Pittsburgh is looking more and more like the Steelers of the past.
PIT over OAK 20-17

WSH @ DEN - This game will be a TD after TD kind of match, but because of key injuries to the Redskins starting safeties the Broncos get the edge, barely.
DEN over WSH 42-38

ATL @ ARI - Arizona just can't seem to get it together, even with former Heisman QB Carson Palmer trying to get the ball to Fitzgerald.
ATL over ARI 22-21

Sunday Night Football

GB @ MIN - Aaron Rodger's is the QB of one team, and I have yet to know who the QB of the other team will be come Sunday night.
GB over MIN 28-13

Monday Night Football

SEA @ STL - Seahawks have their best start in franchise history, while in St Louis they are scrambling looking for someone to replace the injured Sam Bradford.
SEA over STL 19-9
