NFL Fantasy Football Who's Hot/Who's Not -RB/WR/TE- Week 8

Alright so if one of your top WR/RB/TE is on a Bye this week then check out this list. I base all my picks on match-ups, consistency, and I try to use players that may either be available for you to pick up off waivers or if your stuck with who to start & who to bench.

Who's Hot:
RB's -
  • Maurice Jones-Drew - Hopefully you listened last week when I said to bench Jones-Drew (9 att 37 yds), however this week he is going up against a 49ers defense that has held only 2 teams all year below 100 yds rushing. The plan for the Jag's this game will be to run because of their pitiful QB situation and Jones-Drew will get into the end zone.
  • Stevan Ridley - Ridley is going against the Miami Dolphins this weekend which are ranked 28th in the league against RB's. He was able to score 3 TD's last year in the Patriots sweep of the Dolphins. Beside MIA first game against Trent Richardson and the Brown, the Dolphins have given up 100 yds rushing, a TD, or both to opposing RB's. Start 'em.
  • Lamar Miller - Ever since the Patriots lost Vince Wilfork they have given up over 100 yds rushing every week. Too many injuries on the Patriots defense for them not be almost a given to start your RB if matched up against the Patriots. I would roll with Miller if I had him this week.
WR's -
  • Harry Douglas - There are plenty of reasons to put Douglas in your starting line-up this week. Due to injuries he is now the most targeted receiver on Atlanta's offense and he can line up in the slot or go wide. With only Tony Gonzalez as a viable option, Matt Ryan should look Douglas' way often.
  • Jarrett Boykin - With all the injuries for the Packer's receiver there is not a reason why I would not start Boykin this weekend. Bye week fill-in with a guy like Aaron Rodger's throwing him the ball and really only him (most target's last week) this is guy you should put on your team immediately.
  • Terrance Williams - Williams will be going up against the Detroit Lions who have given up 6 TD's thru the air in the past 4 weeks. With the amount of receptions he has brought in from QB Tony Romo the last 4 weeks (19) I feel comfortable enough to trust he will continue getting balls thrown his way.
TE's -
  • Jordan Reed - Reed has become the starting TE for Washington now, and coach Mike Shanahan loves to use his TE's. He is a much better athlete than Fred Davis (no longer the starter) and is capable of making bigger plays. He has had 13 catches in 2 weeks for 192 yds and 1 TD, look for him to play similar and the trend to continue.
  • Rob Housler - Housler is a good Bye week pick-up if you need the help at TE this week. He is going up against a Atlanta defense that is ranked 21st in Fantasy against TE's. His usage rate should increase soon, since coach Bruce Arians believes TE's should play a primary role in his offense.
  • Anthony Fasano - I would use Fasano as only a Bye week fill in primarily because of the match-up against the Cleveland Browns, who have given up 4 TD's to opposing TE's in the past 2 games.

Who's Not:
RB's -
  •  Willis McGahee - He is going against the Chiefs who have only given up 1 rush TD all season. Leave alone this week.
  • Cincinnati Bengal RB's - The Bengals will be going up against the Jets, who have only given up 4 rush TD's all season. I would not play most RB's against this defensive line
  • Atlanta Falcon RB's - Steven Jackson will be making his return since being injured in Week 2 against his former team the Rams. That being said I don't like the match-up coming fresh off an injury to stack up against a Cardinals defense that has only allowed 2 rush TD's all season.
WR's -
  • New England Patriot WR's - This does not include Gronk. New England receivers will be lining up against a very good Miami secondary that has not allowed a pass TD all year long. Tom has had some problems throwing into the end zone this year and if is able to this weekend it will probably be going to Gronk.
  • Mike Williams - Mike Glennon's favorite receiver thus far has been Vincent Jackson. Mike Williams has only scored twice on the season and has yet to eclipse 100 yds. Leave him on the waiver wire this week.
  • Oakland WR's - The Raider's will be taking on the Steelers this weekend who have only given up 3 TD's thru the air this year. I don't trust that offense enough to take a shot with any of them including Denarious Moore. Oh yeah, and there the OAKLAND RAIDERS.Bench 'Em!
TE's -
  • Scott Chandler - When the Bill's lose Chandler's value goes up and the good news is that his team is a major underdog against the Saints. The bad news however is that the Saints have only given up 2 TD's to opposing TE's and no more than 57 yds to a TE.
  • Brent Celek - Too much inconsistency to take a shot on a TE who has yet to bring in more than 3 receptions in a game. Would be a great match-up but unfortunately he just isn't good enough.
  • Brandon Myers - With only 4 receptions in as many weeks I am getting rid of Myers now. He started the season looking like he could really be a viable fantasy option but since week 2 he has failed to break 50 yds.
I hope this will help you out this weekend with CHI, TEN, IND, SD, BAL, HOU all on a Bye.
I am sure you might some of this help and that's why I do it.

Good luck with your Fantasy Team this week

As always thanks for taking the time to read and let me know if there is anything you might have a question about regarding your Fantasy Team.
