You need more than Manning, you need Luck

The showdown was in Indy this past Sunday, when Peyton Manning made his first return to Indy, a place he called home for the first 13 yrs of his career.

The lights were bright and everyone had their eyes glued to their TV set wondering the same thing, can he go back and get a win in his old stomping grounds. Well one thing we didn't take into consideration was, this is Andrew Luck's house now and he had something to say about it. After a well placed tribute to Peyton before the game (I think they were planning on keeping his mind off the game), Manning started off slow trailing 14-26 by halftime.

The 4th Qtr was beginning to look like another epic Peyton Manning Comeback! Up until RB Ronnie Hillman fumbled the ball on the Colts 5 yd line with 3:03 left in the game. That would have made the game a 2 point difference, which would have set up a game that could have gone either teams way. I guess you could say the Colts had Luck on their side (Get it?)

Although it wasn't all good on the Colts sideline with Pro Bowl WR Reggie Wayne suffering an injury in the last Qtr. Wayne tore his ACL in his right knee, on a non contact play where its seems that he may have just landed wrong. The WR depth is limited in Indy now with their number one receiver becoming Darius Heyward-Bey. This game was great to watch except for the fact that you could tell Peyton was not himself even with his numbers he put up (386 yds, 3 TD's). You could just tell something was not right with the way he was making his plays on the line and being unable to dissect this defense like he has so many times before.

It was a great game and one I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch in the playoffs. With this loss that leaves the Kansas City Chiefs as the last team standing with an undefeated record. The Chiefs will look to stay undefeated these upcoming weeks and should make for a great AFC West showdown in Week 11 when the Chiefs take on the Broncos.

Final Score - IND over DEN 39-33

*Sorry I wasn't able to get this up yesterday morning but better late than never right...
