2013 NFL Week 7 Mayhem

Another Weekend Down, Another Weekend of Mayhem.

Quick Recap of a few games from week 7 in the NFL:

The Kansas City Chiefs are the last team standing.

Who would have thought when the season started that when Andy Reid came to Kansas City and lobbied for Alex Smith to join him that they would be not only undefeated thru 7 weeks of football but also the last team to stay undefeated. I don't know where the NFL gets these story lines every year but the NFL season always seems to amaze me.

Jacksonville Jaguars are still winless, the only team without a win now that the New York Giants were finally able to muster up a win on Monday Night Football.

Monday Night Football:
MIN @ NYG:
Speaking of Monday Night Football how about that game.... Yeah I know disgusting right... The NY Giants had the Minnesota Vikings coming to town for what we would all realize should have been a game played early Sunday morning, not Prime Time on Monday. The Vikings had newly acquired QB Josh Freeman running the show, or at least attempting to run the show, and failing miserably as almost every one of his passes were either too short or too long. You could tell Freeman was just not in sync with his receivers or the playbook as most of their plays came from the same formation. Vikings MVP RB Adrian Peterson was also having an off day, 5 days after the loss of his 2 yr old son that he just recently learned about a couple months ago, and only gained 28 yds rushing on 13 attempts. The G-Men capitalized on Vikings mistakes this game (3 turnovers) and it was enough to pull out their first win of the year.
NYG over MIN 23-7

NE @ NYJ:
I gotta say it was a good weekend for the NFL teams in New York; Giants, Jets, and Bills were each able to get a "W" this past weekend. The New England Patriots were able to put up 21 points in the first half but were held to only 2 field goals in the second half. Even though it was the much anticipated return of TE Rob Gronkowski, who pulled in 8 Rec for 114 yds, it was not enough to get into the end zone as Tom Brady had another game without a TD pass. Geno was able to do just enough to keep the Jets in the game. This game was a nail biter and ended with a penalty on a  missed Field Goal when Chris Jones was called for unsportsmanlike conduct that gave the Jets another chance to make the Field Goal that K Nick Folk had just missed.
